How To Ask The Right Questions In a Tarot Reading?

First time getting a tarot reading?
If you're keen to get the most out of your tarot reading, then you need to know the right questions to ask. However, if you've never had one before, then it may seem overwhelming in an attempt to get the answers you need. On the other hand, if you've tried and still failed to get all your desires answered, then you already know deep down it's not something you want to do through trial and error.
As famously quoted from C.V. Raman,
Ask the right questions, and Nature will open the door to her secrets.
That’s why I’ve developed this handy-dandy little guide for getting all the answers you need out of a tarot reading by asking concise, direct questions.
You can skip the long learning curve as well as frustration at the end of the reading where you feel like you didn't fully get all your answers and hopefully skip over all the frustrating mistakes that most beginning newcomers make when they try out a tarot reading.
So let’s get started…
Step 1: Focus On The Big Picture
If you've ever tried to get to the crux of the issue, then you'll know a macro perspective always works. I’ve discovered that the best way to complete this step is by focusing on a particular aspect of your life. Take for example, which part of your life would you like improvement from? Love? Career? This is particularly helpful if you're lost and have a multitude of questions in your mind.
Here’s what you should do:
Write down the few facets of life you strongly desire to change. When you narrow down to a few features, it will aid you significantly in understanding what you truly need guidance for. If you've more than one aspect, feel free to list it down so it helps you organise your thoughts more effectively.
A good example is as below;
Love
Career
Family
Step 2: Zoom In On Each Aspect
This second step can be a little tricky, which is why I’ve broken it up into several smaller steps.
But before I get into those smaller steps, let me toss a word of warning your way. Take note that this works differently for many people and it is crucial you know what you seek change or guidance in.
With that warning out of the way, here’s how to complete this step:
Step 2.1: Ask yourself what outcome you desire in that feature?
For example, if 'love' is one of your aspects, then what kind of outcome are you hoping for? Some people have ideas such as:
A healthy, loving relationship
A faithful partner
A safe space to openly communicate
This is a time for you to be honest with yourself. There're no right or wrong answers (even ones you might even think is desperate) because a professional tarot reader holds no judgment and only seeks to help you retrieve guidance.
Step 2.2: Determine the number of involved parties
In every situation, there're always a bunch of people involved. Before you go on to formulate your questions, you need to understand if you need guidance regarding a specific person or situation. These two vary greatly and will be confusing for your tarot reader if you're unsure of who you're referring to which will be difficult for your session to go well.
Latching on from the previous topic, if your idea is 'love' related - it will now look like this:
Love
A faithful partner - John and I OR A faithful partner - I (assuming you're single)
Once you’ve completed the above, then move on to Step 3.
Step 3: Determine if it's a 'How' or 'What' or 'Why'
This final step does require some patience to get it right, but it’s well worth the effort.
In a reading, it is vital to know if you prefer methods to get to where you need to be or if you desire to only know the future. A short breakdown on the types of questions is as below:
'How': This is a question with solutions. If you desire the 'know-how' to your preferred outcome, you can't go wrong with this. It often goes like this: how can I find the love of my life?
'What': The most basic of all questions often starts with 'what' which has an open-ended interpretation on your possibilities for the future. It is commonly asked: what is wrong with my love life?
'Why': This is the question to ask if you are truly ready to hear the blockages and traumas blocking you from achieving your best life. People frequently say: why am I not getting forward in my love life?
As you can see, it’s not particularly hard to formulate your questions for a reading – you just need to complete the process step-by-step using my instructions above. But before you jump in, let me share with you three tips to make it even easier for you to change your life today:
Be painfully honest and vulnerable with yourself
Be open and willing to listen to whatever comes through
Be patient with yourself during and after the reading
Congratulations – you now know how to ask the right questions in your tarot reading! So the next thing you need to do is schedule one to change your life today.
Because the sooner you do, the sooner you can move forward with the healing that awaits to help you live your best life.
